MED-EL – The Hearing Implant Company
MED-EL is the only manufacturer to offer a broad product portfolio of hearing implants to treat different types of hearing loss.
Since MED-EL’s founders developed one of the world’s first cochlear implants in 1975, a strong research tradition has continued to fuel the development of technologically advanced hearing solutions. MED-EL offers implantable solutions across the hearing loss spectrum, including cochlear and middle ear implants, combined electric-acoustic stimulation and brainstem implants.
MAESTRO® Cochlear Implant System –
Unique to MED-EL, the MAESTRO cochlear implant system comprises of two speech processors, different wearing options, two implant designs and a wide variety of electrode arrays. This enables surgeons and candidates to select exactly that combination of components that best matches specific clinical needs or individual preferences. All components represent the state-of-the-art in cochlear implant technology.
The PULSARCI100 and SONATATI100 cochlear implants represent a culmination of decades of research and development. Introducing the new I100 electronics platform, PULSARCI100 and SONATATI100 provide cochlear implant recipients the opportunity to benefit from the absolute latest advances in technology – today and tomorrow. MED-EL’s advanced electrode design also meets the individual patient’s needs.
Both the PULSARCI100 and SONATATI100 cochlear implants are MRI-safe without magnet removal. Please find details on MRI-safety here
The OPUS speech processors are exceptionally compact and lightweight, with a slim, low-profile design that fits comfortably behind the ear. Interchangeable wearing options, including special options for children, ensure that the OPUS speech processors can be adapted to individual needs, lifestyles and activities as well as the changing requirements of growing children.
The OPUS speech processors also offer quick and easy access to FM-systems.
The New Rechargeable DaCapo battery and charging system is highly power-efficient, enviromentally friendly, and reduces the weight of the MED-EL speech processors even more.
The OPUS 2 is the first speech processor worldwide with a switch-free design. This means that changes to settings are made “on the go”, without removing the processor from the ear and without interrupting your hearing.
The MED-EL FineHearing technology opens a new dimension of hearing by providing the fine details of sound for a hearing experience with unprecedented depth and complexity. With the introduction of its OPUS speech processors, MED-EL has implemented this new concept in sound processing strategies. It is designed to overcome the limitations of conventional sound coding technologies.
